The objective of Jharkhand Abua Awas Yojana
Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, initiated the Abua Awas Yojana in 2023 with the aim of providing permanent housing to the state’s poor families. Recently, on February 9, 2024, during a program organized at Baisthapur Gopal Maidan under the Abua Awas Yojana, Jharkhand’s newly elected Chief Minister, Champai Soren, announced that the scheme would transfer funds to the bank accounts of 25,000 poor citizens via direct debit. He also mentioned that beneficiaries under the scheme would receive financial assistance of ₹2,00,000 in five instalments. Additionally, Chandrashekhar, the Secretary of the Rural Development Department, stated that the department is actively involved in the activities related to the Abua Awas Yojana. He also mentioned that more than 31 lakh people have already applied to get their own permanent house under the Abua Awas Yojana.
