Apun Bahan Scheme Assam Objectives
The “Apun Bahan” program, initiated by the Assam government, aims to benefit state government employees in Assam. Under this program, government personnel can avail a motor vehicle loan with a 2% interest subsidy, which is increased to 3% for women and Divyangjan employees. An allocation of 12 crores has been earmarked for this purpose.
Eligibility Criteria of Scheme
To be eligible for the “Apun Bahan” scheme, regular employees of the State Government must be between the ages of 21 and 53. This ensures that the employees’ service period aligns with the maximum loan term of 7 years.
Features of the Assam Apun Bahan Scheme
The “Apun Bahan” scheme in Assam offers the following features:
1. Male employees buying diesel or petrol vehicles will receive a 2% interest subsidy, while those opting for electric vehicles will get a 3% subsidy. Female employees and those with disabilities will also receive a 3% interest subsidy for any vehicle purchase.
2. Employees can avail a maximum loan amount of 15 lakh rupees, or 48 times their net monthly income, whichever is lower.
3. The Assam Government’s “Apun Ghar” scheme has already benefited 36,159 employees, resulting in a loan portfolio of 4,984 crore. An allocation of 108 crores has been made for government employees to borrow for homes and vehicles.
