Eligibility Criteria for ICG Assistant Commandant Recruitment
Educational Qualification
To apply for the General Duty branch, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least 60% marks overall. Additionally, they should have studied Mathematics and Physics up to the intermediate or class XII level as part of the 10+2+3 education scheme or equivalent.
As for the Technical branch (Electrical/Electronics and Mechanical Trades), candidates need an Engineering degree with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in the relevant field. The qualification must be recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Age Limit
Applicants should be between 21 to 25 years old as of 01 July 2024. This means they should have been born between 01 July 1999 and 30 June 2003 (inclusive of both dates). Age relaxation for reserved categories is applicable as per government norms.
Application Fee
All candidates, except those belonging to the SC/ST category who are exempted from the fee, need to pay a fee of ₹300/- (Rupees Three Hundred Only). This fee can be paid online through various modes, including net banking or by using Visa/Master/Maestro/RuPay/Credit/Debit Card/UPI.
Selection Process
The selection process for the ICG Assistant Commandant position comprises several stages:
1. CGCAT Computer-based Test (Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Test)
2. Preliminary Selection, which includes:
- Mental Ability Test/Cognitive Aptitude Test
- Picture Perception & Discussion Test
