The Lek Ladki Yojana: The government of Maharashtra has shared that many times, girls can’t finish their education because of a lack of money in the state. Now, the state government is starting the Lek Ladki Yojana to make the future of girls financially strong.
The Maharashtra government has begun a new scheme for girls named the Lek Ladki Yojana. Under this scheme, girls will get financial support from the moment they are born to ensure their financial security.
What is Lek Ladki Scheme (Yojana) 2023
This plan will benefit people who have yellow and orange ration cards in the state. Families in Maharashtra with an annual income ranging from 15,000 rupees to one lakh rupees will be given orange ration cards. In addition, those earning 15,000 rupees in urban areas will receive yellow ration cards.
At the start of the scheme, when a girl is born, her family will receive 5,000 rupees. Then, when the girl gets admitted to school, her family will get 6,000 rupees. When she enters the 6th grade, the family will receive 7,000 rupees.
Main Objective of the Lek Ladki Scheme
The Maharashtra government has told us that in the state, many girls couldn’t complete their education due to a lack of money. This often led to early marriages for these girls. But now, the state government is starting the Lek Ladki Yojana to make the future of these girls financially strong.
Lek Ladki Scheme’s Eligible Girl will Get 75,000 Rupees!
Under this plan, the government provides financial security for girls’ education. When a girl joins the 9th grade, she will receive 8,000 rupees. Then, when she turns 18, she will get 75,000 rupees for her financial security, which she can use for her further studies.
Through this plan by the Maharashtra government, a total of 1,01,000 rupees will be given to the girl. In the state, there are about 2.56 crore families with ration cards. Among them, 62.60 lakh people have yellow ration cards, and 1.71 crore people have orange cards.
The Maharashtra Lek Ladki Yojana (Lek Ladki Scheme) is all about giving financial help to the state’s girls in the following ways:
- 5,000 rupees: When the girl is born.
- 6,000 rupees: When the girl enters the 1st grade.
- 7,000 rupees: When the girl starts the 6th grade.
- 8,000 rupees: When the girl joins the 11th grade.
- 75,000 rupees: When the girl turns 18 years old.
Lek Ladki Yojana: Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Lek Ladki Yojana, you need to meet these criteria:
1. You must live in Maharashtra.
2. The annual income of your family should be under Rs. 1 lakh.
3. You should have a girl child born on or after April 1, 2013.
4. Make sure to enroll your girl child in a government or government-aided school and ensure she attends school regularly up to the 10th Class.
5. You should have a joint bank account with the girl child and her mother in a nationalized bank.
