Telangana Assembly Elections 2023

The Telangana Assembly polls are all set for November 30, with the vote count happening on December 3, as declared by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday.

In the upcoming assembly election in Telangana, there’s going to be a three-way battle between the BJP, the current ruling party Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), and the Congress.

Back in the 2018 Assembly election, BRS had a big win, securing 88 out of 119 seats with a strong 47.4% of the votes. The Congress was quite behind with only 19 seats and a vote share of 28.7%.

In the meantime, YSR Telangana Party’s leader, YS Sharmila, made an announcement that her party would compete in all 119 Assembly constituencies in the upcoming elections. She also confirmed that she would keep her promise to contest from Palair.

Opposition Leader BJP’s Tejasvi Surya Said “Telangana’s BRS govt. most corrupt government today”

On the other hand, Tejasvi Surya, the President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha, had some strong words for Telangana’s ruling party, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). He called it the “most corrupt” government in the state.

Surya said, “The BRS government in Telangana is the most corrupt government today. What’s happening here is not just regular corruption; it’s like a robbery in broad daylight. The people of the state are very upset because the promises made by the BRS have not been kept. When the state was formed, the people had hopes of progress and opportunities for the youth.

That’s why the Telangana movement started. But the BRS rule has led to the enrichment of a few families, like the KRS family, the BRS family, and the KCR family, while the common people of Telangana have become poorer.”
