T20 Cricket World Cup 2024 Qualifying
The 2024 edition of the T20 Cricket World Cup will be special with 20 teams participating for the first time. Unlike the usual group organization, these teams will start in four groups of five. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eight stage.
The rest of the teams will then be divided into two groups of four for the Super Eight stage. Here, the top two teams from each group will secure a spot in the semifinals.
This new format aims to enhance competition and give more teams a chance to showcase their skills on a global stage. It also adds an element of unpredictability to the journey towards cricketing success.
Already, twelve teams, representing both established cricketing powers and developing nations, have confirmed their spots for the 2024 T20 Cricket World Cup. The ICC will hold regional qualifiers to determine the qualification schedule for the remaining eight competing nations.
These will include one team each from the Americas and East Asia-Pacific regions, along with two teams each from Africa, Asia, and Europe. This expansion ensures a diverse and exciting lineup for the upcoming tournament.
